SUARAINDONEWS.COM, Jakarta – Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) menambah daftar obat sirop yang ditarik izin edarnya, lantaran menggunakan bahan baku zat pelarut dan produk jadi dengan cemaran Etilen Glikol (EG) serta Dietilen Glikol (DEG) melebihi ambang batas aman.
Terbaru, tercatat ada empat obat sirop dari dua perusahaan farmasi yang izin edarnya dicabut, sehingga total 73 obat sirop ditarik oleh BPOM.
Dengan demikian, hingga kini ada lima perusahaan farmasi yang ditarik izin edar dan sertifikat Cara Pembuatan Obat yang Baik (CPOB) dari BPOM.
Kelima perusahaan tersebut yakni PT Yarindo Farmatama, PT Universal Pharmaceutical Industries, PT Afi Farma, PT Samco Farma (SF), dan PT Ciubros Farma (CF).
BPOM menyimpulkan bahwa kelima industri farmasi tersebut telah melakukan pelanggaran di bidang produksi obat dalam sediaan cair atau sirop.
“Terhadap produk sirup obat dari PT SF dan CF lainnya yang gunakan pelarut propilen glikol, polietilen glikol, sorbitol, dan gliserin atau gliserol dilakukan penghentian produksi dan distribusi hingga ada perkembangan lebih lanjut,” ujar Kepala BPOM Penny K Lukito dalam konferensi pers di Jakarta kemarin.
Jadi untuk produk yang lain pun juga sirop-sirop obat itu juga penghentian produksi dan distribusi,” imbuhnya.
Adapun penarikan obat-obat itu dilakukan di seluruh gerai industri besar farmasi, pedagang besar, apotek instalasi farmasi, rumah sakit, puskesmas, klinik, toko obat dan praktik mandiri tenaga kesehatan.
Selain itu, pemusnahan semua persediaan obat sirop ini juga akan disaksikan oleh petugas UPT BPOM.
Menanggapi hal ini, Menteri Kesehatan (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin mengatakan pihaknya mengikuti keputusan BPOM yang mencabut izin edar 73 obat sirop.
Puluhan obat sirop itu diduga menggunakan bahan baku zat pelarut dan produk jadi dengan cemaran Etilen Glikol (EG) serta Dietilen Glikol (DEG) melebihi ambang batas aman.
“Kalau untuk obat-obatan per jenis obatnya itu kita mengikuti anjuran dari BPOM. Jadi kita tunggu saja (anjuran dari BPOM),” kata Budi di Hotel Sultan, Jumat (11/11/2022)
